Concept Network Schools Reach New Heights in U.S. News & World Report Rankings

For the first time in the organization’s history, Concept Schools had two charter high schools ranked No. 1 in their states by U.S. News & World Report.

The rankings, which are released every year, named Gateway Science Academy Fyler High School the top charter high school to attend in Missouri after it was ranked No. 5 last year. Horizon School Academy McKinley Park soared to the top spot in this year’s rankings after being listed as the No. 14 school in Illinois in 2023.

Five other schools within Concept’s network were ranked in the Top 25 within their respective states this year. This is a testament to Concept’s vision to push the boundaries of what a high-quality education can look like when accessible to every family across the nation.

More Standout Schools from the List

-Chicago Math and Science Academy (No. 2) and Horizon School Academy Southwest (No. 7) followed McKinley Park in the top-7 schools in Illinois. Southwest’s ascension comes after it was not ranked on U.S. News & World Report’s list last year.

-Horizon Science Academy Columbus High School cracked the top-10 the list in Ohio after slotting in at No. 8.

-Indiana Math and Science Academy North was ranked the No. 10 high school in Indiana.

-Minnesota Math and Science Academy came in at No. 21 on the report’s rankings for high schools in Minnesota. This is a dramatic improvement from last year’s rankings, where the school did not receive an individual ranking from U.S. News & World Report.

U.S. News & World Report generates its rankings with six weighted factors (College Readiness (30%); College Curriculum Breadth (10%); State Assessment Proficiency (20%); State Assessment Performance (20%); Underserved Student Performance (10%); Graduation Rate (10%).
